Love my Acorns account!

I finally jumped in and got Acorns Personal last month, and I'm so glad I did! Setting up my Acorns Invest and Acorns Later accounts was super easy. I love watching my money grow just from the Round-Ups, it's like magic. My employer even set up Smart Deposit for my paychecks. It feels great to be investing without even thinking about it. Going to tell my brother to sign up too!

Easy Round-Ups

Signed up for Acorns Invest, mostly for the Round-Ups. It just works. My spare change is always invested, just like they said. No issues.

Good for beginners, some fees

I opened an Acorns Invest account after seeing a referral bonus. The setup was pretty straightforward for a beginner like me, and I like how the Core Portfolios are managed. Round-Ups are a neat feature, though sometimes it takes a few days for them to process. The monthly fee for Acorns Personal seems fair right now, but I could see it adding up if my account balance doesn't grow much.

Thinking about signing up for Acorns, especially for the round-ups. Does anyone know if there are any good sign-up bonuses going on right now? Don't wanna miss out if there's a referral thing or something.

Yeah, I signed up a few months ago through a friend's link and got like $5 or $20 added to my account. It just automatically applied, didn't even have to type in a code or anything.

They pretty much always have some kind of new user bonus if you use a referral link. Seems like that's how they roll, manual promo codes aren't really a thing.

Is Acorns actually worth it or should I just go with something like Robinhood or Stash? Heard good things but also wondering about the fees and if it's really FDIC insured.

I've used Acorns for a while for the micro-investing part, it's pretty hands-off. The fees depend on your account type, but it's not super expensive. As for insurance, I'm pretty sure investment accounts aren't FDIC insured, but it's SIPC for your investments. Double-check that part, but that's what I remember.

It's different from Robinhood because it's more about automated investing and saving small amounts. Robinhood is more active trading. Acorns investment accounts are SIPC protected, not FDIC, afaik, because it's not a bank account, it's an investment account. Your checking account with them, Acorns Spend, would be FDIC though.
